Tegu blocks are one of those inventions that is so wonderfully simple, you wonder why long it took someone to come up with the idea.
When it comes to building blocks for small children, I prefer wooden blocks over plastic every time. They’re nicer to hold, better for the environment and you don’t have to worry about nasty chemicals ending up in your kid’s mouth.
Many parents prefer wooden toys to their plastic alternatives but the problem is that wooden blocks don’t stick together in the way that Duplo blocks, stickle bricks and other plastic blocks do.
Tegu blocks are different. These beautifully designed wooden blocks contain internal magnets so they snap together as if by magic, enabling your children to easily build constructions that defy gravity and allow for more creative building solutions.
Tegu blocks are as beautiful as they are creative. Each set comes packaged in a lovely wooden storage box or felt pouch. The blocks are created from sustainable Honduran hardwoods and are colored with a non-toxic water-based lacquer that allows the natural grain of the wood to show through.
The pocket pouch is a great low-cost introduction to the world of Tegu blocks and makes a great toy to take traveling or pop into your purse to entertain a restless toddler wherever you are. Alternatively they make a great desk toy for adults!
This set includes 8 Blocks – 4 cubes and 4 short planks in gorgeous pastel shades, which can be used to create anything your imagination can come up with.
The blocks come in a cute felt case, which makes them easy to store and carry around
You’re obviously limited with what you can build if you just get one of the pocket Tegu kits. They’re great for taking out and about but for some really fun and involved play at home, you’ll want to invest in one of the bigger sets.
This 42 piece set includes 4 tall columns, 4 medium columns, 6 short planks, 6 long plants, 6 mega planks, 6 cubes, 2 parallelograms, 4 short angles and 4 wheels.
There are enough blocks in this set to build loads of different buildings, towers, vehicles and any other constructions you can imagine.
The 52 piece set is the original Tegu set and another large set that contains a different selection of shapes of blocks. It differs from the 42 piece set as it contains no wheels, so this is more of a kit for creating buildings than vehicles.
The kit contains 20 cubes, 16 long planks, 10 short planks and 6 jumbo planks
Robo is a fun little robot constructed from Tegu blocks that can be rebuilt into a number of different constructions – a spaceship, a horse, or anything your imagination can dream up!
The set includes 8 blocks: 5 short planks, 2 robo triangles and 1 robo body
This clever set of magnetic blocks allows your child to make all sorts of vehicles including a helicopter, race car, support vehicle or any number of other road and air vehicles.
As with all the Tegu sets, these blocks are compatible with all other Tegu blocks.
The set includes 17 pieces, including 4 wheels and a propeller.
